ORAL SURGERY

ORAL SURGERY In our Dental clinic, Oral surgery refers to any surgical procedure performed in or around your mouth and jaw. There are different types of oral surgical procedures.

SIMPLE AND COMPLEX TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

SIMPLE AND COMPLEX TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

There are multiple reasons why our dentists might advise you to have a tooth removed. It might be severely decayed, cracked, or even causing damage to neighbouring teeth. Before the procedure, our dentist at true smile works will answer any questions you may have to make you more comfortable. Oral hygiene care and post-surgery instructions will be discussed, and a prescription may be given for pain control.

IMPACTED WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTIONS

IMPACTED WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTIONS

Wisdom teeth are the third molars at the back of the mouth that may be missing or present but do not have enough room to emerge or develop normally. They can make oral hygiene in the area challenging, resulting in decay, gum inflammation, swelling, bad breath, and may even cause possible damage to the adjacent tooth. In this situation, it is advisable to have the tooth removed to prevent further complications.

GUM GRAFTS

GUM GRAFTS

The gums protect the roots of the teeth. If you notice that your gums are receding, this can be due to aggressive brushing, braces, or as a result of long-term gum disease. Over time, the roots of your teeth can be exposed, leaving them open to decay and sensitivity. In this case, you may need a gum graft - a quick and relatively simple dental surgery, where our dentist takes gum tissue from your palate or another donor source to cover the exposed root. As our dentist mentioned, gum graft can reduce further recession, bone loss, tooth sensitivity, and improve the aesthetics of your smile.

TOOTH IMPLANTS

TOOTH IMPLANTS

Tooth implants are metal posts, usually made of titanium, that replace the root portion of a missing tooth. They bond with your natural bone and become the base to hold an artificial tooth and are designed to last a lifetime. You can discuss with our dentist at True Smile Works Dental clinic to determine the best treatment plan suitable for your needs.

APICOECTOMY (ROOT CANAL SURGERY)

APICOECTOMY (ROOT CANAL SURGERY)

Apicoectomy is a root end surgery is an endodontic surgical procedure that removes the tooth's root tip and the root end cavity is filled with a biocompatible material to provide a sustainable and strong tooth.

BIOPSIES AND CYST REMOVAL

BIOPSIES AND CYST REMOVAL

A dental cyst is a small cavity, that contains a liquid or semisolid substance, generally developed in the soft oral tissues. A biopsy is a procedure where the dentist removes a small piece of tissue for it to be observed under a microscope and provide a diagnosis. The cyst can potentially be removed using a surgical procedure.

GUM DISEASE (PERIODONTICS)

GUM DISEASE (PERIODONTICS)

Gum disease is a bacterium that resides in the mouth and creates a layer called plaque on the teeth's surface. If our brushing and flossing are not efficient it will create tartar which cannot be removed with toothpaste and a toothbrush and only your dentist has the necessary tools to effectively remove it. The tartar creates an inflammation of the tissue that surrounds the teeth where the gums get inflamed and can eventually bleed. This condition is called gingivitis. If such a condition develops, it will cause periodontitis, which in advance states can even cause teeth loss. The main risk factors that can trigger gum disease are cigarettes, diabetes, drastic hormonal change, and certain sickness that reduce the saliva flow. Our dentist will evaluate and discuss with you the type of treatment in each case, with the most important objective being to keep the infection under control. We have a “laser device” at our disposal, which can be used to reshape the gums and reduce both procedure and subsequent healing times.

SEDATION DENTISTRY

SEDATION DENTISTRY

In our dental clinic, for your convenience and comfort, we use a safe gas mixture, which effectively controls anxiety and keep you calm, and even happy during the treatments. The gas is administered through a mask, which delivers nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas". The gas will not put you to sleep and you will be perfectly capable of conversing with our staff members and follow instructions.

a Wonderful Experience

I have just had a treatment at the Abu Dhabi branch. The procedure(s) resulted in an extraction of a large molar. This was my first proper dentist treatment (I have been fortunate). The team were great, I felt well taken care of. Dr Tina Kumar and Dr Areez Al Farisi were both very patient centric and I felt that I was in good knowledgeable hands. Highly recommended. Thank you.
